As I’ve mentioned in an earlier post, I’ve begun the search for a slight change of career. Moving away from the food industry and going into some sort of writing job, which is something I love to do.
During my quest for this alluring opportunity I have, more than once, stumbled upon the importance of knowing web3, at least a little bit. As a tech nerd, I’ve heard about this many times and looked into it a little bit because…well, it’s of interest. And trust me, this is a rabbit hole that never ends.
Essentially web3 is a new internet. Today’s internet is what is called web2, where everything is pretty structured, even if it looks messy from time to time. The web, as most of us know it, is a centralized space where everything has its place and lots and lots of the information is searchable through our search engines (google, bing, etc) and we have news and all sorts of info at our hands.
Web3 is decentralized and built on blockchains and the economy is more or less built on different cryptocurrencies. To put it easy; web3 is giving the power of the internet back to the people. Giants like Meta (Facebook, Instagram, and more), Google (all things google, including Android) are left in the dust when it comes to web3.
Many think web3 and deep/dark web are the same and I can agree to some extent but not all the way. While the deep web is a stinkhole of illegality and very questionable content, it seems web3 is a much cleaner place and it will continue on that path as long as the frauds, scammers and other dirty people don’t find a place to thrive there.
I could go on forever on the subject but just wanted to post a small thing about the web3 that more and more people hear about.
