Stockholm is showing off. Really showing off. It’s wintry in our Capital City and it’s beautiful. Stockholm is a gorgeous place during summertime. Especially the archipelago. But during winter, the city transforms into something else. I feel like I’m stepping into a fairytale every time I go to the city core. Built on water, with its bridges, piers, and jetties, the city reflects a lot of the Christmas lights everyone has put up in their windows and around their houses and I am here for it.
Don’t get me wrong, though. Before the snow arrives it’s a gray and dark place, where I live. Really dark. Sun sets early in the afternoon and stays down for many hours, and we Swedes can really feel the lack of light sometimes. But when the snow comes, it transforms the city. It becomes light, crispy cold, and wonderful. As I write this it’s around -13 degrees (C) and snow and ice cover everything. Not going to write a travel blog about my city, just wanted to let you know that it’s wonderful here, right now. 🙂
