Sidekicking it – Where AI Meets Your Imagination

Hello fellow wordsmiths and literary adventurers! Are you tired of staring at a blank screen, waiting for the muse to strike? Yeah, me too! Since ChatGPT crept into our lives just about a year ago, a lot of writers have seen their jobs vanish, or be made partly by a set of algorithms and a well programmed machine.

For a couple of months I was a grumpy old man (Swedish: Surgubbe) over this new technology that was taking over. Why? because the reporting on it was, initially, very one-sided. All we saw was the downsides. The jobs that were going, the increasing errors from the AIs, and the predictions of doom in general.

After a while, it started to trickle down some more nuanced news and information about this. We started to see how using these machines of job destruction, could actually help. Today, When it comes to writing, I still refuse to use ChatGPT to write articles, posts, and other stuff. But I do use it for ideas, to bounce ideas off of, and to rewrite stuff. As someone who has two left feet, when it comes to doing graphics and designs like that, I do use AI to draw stuff. Trust me, it’s for your own good. Hahahaha

My advice to anyone as grumpy as I was: Take a few hours to study AI prompting. It will make your life easier. It’s easy to fire up ChatGPT, Jasper, QuillBot, or any other ai, and instruct it to ”I want to write an article about how to use Instagram filters on my cat”. It’s more productive to prompt ”Give me 10 ideas on articles to write about how to use Instagram filters on my cat”.
